Lloydminster’s Cenovus Energy Hub to Host Saskatchewan’s Premier Curling Championship in 2027

Lloydminster, AB/SK - Lloydminster will host the 2027 SaskTel Tankard and Bunge Prairie Pinnacle provincial curling championships at the Cenovus Energy Hub from January 10 to 17, 2027.

Presented by CURLSASK, the week-long event will bring Saskatchewan’s top men’s and women’s curling teams to Lloydminster to compete for provincial titles and the opportunity to represent the province on the national stage.

Hosting both championships together is expected to attract athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and curling fans from across Saskatchewan, creating significant economic and community benefits for the region.

Mayor Gerald Aalbers said the announcement reflects Lloydminster’s growing reputation as a destination for major sporting events.

“Lloydminster is excited to welcome athletes, fans, and visitors from across Saskatchewan for the 2027 provincial curling championships,” said Mayor Aalbers. “Cenovus Energy Hub was designed to host these sort of events, and this is an opportunity to showcase our community and our hospitality.”

Local organizers and the Lloydminster Curling Club will work alongside CURLSASK to deliver the championships, with volunteer recruitment and sponsorship opportunities expected to begin later this year.

In addition to the on-ice competition, the event is expected to feature family-friendly activities, youth engagement opportunities, and interactive fan experiences.

More information about volunteer opportunities, ticket sales, and event programming will be shared as details become available.
